What kind of projects do you take on?

Commercials and brand films, music videos, documentary and narrative films, and live broadcast direction. If it’s visual storytelling, it’s in scope.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I’m based in Cairo, Egypt, and regularly work across the wider Middle East. Travel for shoots is available depending on the project.

What does the production process look like?

Every project starts with meticulous planning — concept, treatment and pre-production — followed by directing on set, then editing, color grading and final delivery.

Do you handle the full production or just directing?

Both. I can direct within an existing team, or lead an end-to-end production including crew, visual identity, color grading and post supervision.

How long does a typical project take?

It depends on scope. A focused commercial can move quickly, while documentary and narrative work runs longer. I’ll give you a clear timeline after our first conversation.

How do I start a project?

Use the contact page or email contact@hashemtaher.com with a short description of your idea, timeline and any references. I’ll get back to you to discuss the vision.

What's included in your directing package?

Creative development, shot listing and storyboards, on-set direction of cast and crew, and supervision through the edit. I stay involved from the first concept call to the final color grade so the vision stays consistent.

Do you write the script or treatment yourself?

Often, yes. I can develop the concept and treatment from a simple brief, or refine an existing script. For brand work I collaborate closely with your marketing team to make sure the story serves the message.

What's your typical budget range?

Projects vary widely, from lean single-day shoots to multi-location campaigns. Share your budget and goals up front and I’ll tell you honestly what’s achievable and where the money is best spent.

Can you work with our in-house team?

Absolutely. I regularly direct within existing production teams, agencies and brand departments, slotting in alongside your producers, DPs and editors while bringing a clear directorial vision.

What equipment and crew do you use?

I assemble the right crew and gear for each project rather than forcing a fixed setup — from compact run-and-gun kits to full cinema cameras, lighting and grip packages, with trusted DPs and gaffers.

How involved am I in the creative process?

As involved as you want to be. Some clients hand over the brief and trust the process; others want to review every storyboard and cut. I keep you informed at each milestone and welcome your input.

Do you shoot internationally?

Yes. Based in Cairo, I work across the Middle East, North Africa and beyond, and can travel for the right project. I handle the logistics so you can focus on the result.

What formats and deliverables do you provide?

Final films in any aspect ratio and resolution you need — broadcast, cinema, web and social cutdowns. I deliver master files plus platform-ready versions for the channels you’re targeting.

How do you handle revisions?

The edit includes structured revision rounds so you can give feedback in a clear, organized way. We lock the cut together before moving to sound and color, keeping the process smooth and predictable.

How far in advance should I book you?

Reach out as early as you can — popular shoot windows fill up. Even a rough timeline helps me hold dates and plan properly. For tight turnarounds, get in touch and I’ll do my best to accommodate.
